Crystal Dominick, Vice-President

CRYSTAL DOMINICK, PRESIDENT - President Dominick has been a member of the Disabled Access Appeals Commission since September 2009 and was elected Vice-President in October 2010 and President in August 2011. She currently is a Real Estate Owned (REO) specialist for Coldwell Banker with a proven record of leadership skills and expertise dealing with accessibility issues in Real Estate investment and project management.
Ms. Dominick offers 11 years of Real Estate experience within many branches of the field. Prior to joining Coldwell Banker, she was a National Site Locator for MAACO Enterprises. With MAACO, she identified sites for successful franchise locations and rendered assistance in the concept and design of all shops. She also has extensive experience as a Senior Financial Analyst at Paramount Pictures, where she was responsible for analyzing financial reconciliations for the entire television network account base.
Throughout her career, she has compiled significant experience in reviewing construction plans to plan profitable alternatives for projects and sales. In previous positions, Ms. Dominick also oversaw the compliance with local, state and federal accessibility laws.
She is currently an active member of the National Association of Realtors, North East Little League Association and the Hispanic Business Association.


Dr. Jemiss Nazar DC, JD, Commissioner

DR. JEMISS NAZAR DC, JD, VICE PRESIDENT - Vice President Nazar has been a member of Disabled Access Appeals Commission since January 2010 and elected Vice-President in August 2011. Dr. Nazar is an active Chiropractor and a multi-talented, multi-lingual individual who had achieved many degrees and credentials in many branches of higher education. He has two Doctorate degrees both in Chiropractic & Law and received his Post Doctorate master degree in law. He is also holding a valid California Real Estate Broker license. He is an Independent Medical Examiner for California State Disability for the last 15 years and has been providing Chiropractic services to the community at the same time. He is Certified Industrial Injury Evaluator as well as Certified Radiography X-Ray Supervisor and Operator by the State of California Department of Public Health and Human Services Agency. He received Certificate of Appreciation from California Chiropractic Association Political Action Committee, San Fernando Valley Chiropractic District. He is currently managing his own Chiropractic office and provides services to his patients. Dr. Nazar speaks fluent English, Assyrian, Farsi and Perfect Conversational Spanish. Because of his belief in community services, he is actively engaged to serve upon request of Los Angeles Police Department, North Hollywood Division to evaluate LAPD Explorers Program for pre-participation physical screening examination.

Jorge E. Acevedo, President

JORGE E. ACEVEDO, COMMISSIONER - Commissioner Acevedo brings to the Commission 10 years of experience as an advocate and voice for the differently-abled community of Los Angeles and Glendale. He is a 30 year resident of Los Angeles working with others to enable perspective on issues of disabled access as a fundamental civil right. He is a goal-oriented individual with very strong leadership capabilities. He has proven his ability to work well with staff, volunteers, and the board of directors. He has been involved in many community plans for various organizations in and around Los Angeles and Glendale. Mr. Acevedo obtained his degree in Criminal Justice in 2004. In addition, Mr. Acevedo is the founding member of Delta Sigma Omicron, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping students with disabilities and non-disabled students achieve and graduate from Glendale Community College. In April 2008, he was recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice for his dedication and hard work on behalf of America's victims of crime. He is a member of the Disabled Access Appeals Commission since September, 2008, Vice President of the Commission from July 2009 to October 2010 and served as President from October 2010 to August 2011.

Anthony J. Braswell, Commissioner

ANTHONY J. BRASWELL, COMMISSIONER - Commissioner Braswell has been a member of the Disabled Access Appeals Commission since April 2011. He is employed by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and is active in many local and national non-profit organizations. He is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and holds Masters Degrees from Georgia State University in both Health Administration and Business Administration. He is an elected Board member and current President of Neighborhood Council Valley Village. He is also an appointed member of the Los Angeles County Commission on HIV, recently completing five years of service as Co-Chair of the Commission. Among his many volunteer positions, he has served as Chair of AIDS Action Council in Washington DC, as a Board member of the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, founding Chair of Haven House Hospice in Atlanta, Georgia and a member of the Board of AID for AIDS and The Serra Project in Los Angeles. Mr. Braswell was a founding Community Advisory Board Member for the Emory University Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), and a gubernatorial appointee to the State of Georgia Health Strategies Council. Mr. Braswell also held a faculty appointment in Health Care Management in the School of Health Sciences at Clayton State University.



Rod Lane, Commissioner

ROD LANE, COMMISSIONER - Commissioner Lane has been a member of the Disabled Access Appeals Commission since September 2005, Vice President from September 2006 to July 2007 and President of the Commission from July 2007 to July 2008. His education includes University of California, Los Angeles, Certificate Program in Engineering Management for Construction, Joint Certificate in Engineering Management for Construction from the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Associated General Contractors of California. He also completed studies toward a Bachelor's of Science in Architecture, University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Lane is proficient in every aspect of construction management and specializes in the management of non-profit and affordable housing projects. Prior to joining Swinerton Management and Consulting, Mr. Lane was the founder and president of Community Construction Strategies, a premier leader in the field of affordable housing construction management. Commissioner Lane has over 20 years experience in the construction industry.
