LADBS-Deputy Inspector Program

Deputy Inspector Program

Building and Safety certifies Deputy Inspectors through a vigorous testing and interview process. LADBS continually evaluates the work performed by the Registered Deputy Inspectors to maintain a high standard of excellence. Deputy Inspectors provide a service to builders who require continuous inspection for time periods that Building and Safety Inspectors cannot otherwise fulfill. Deputy Inspectors can be certified in multiple areas. It is important to acquire the services of a Deputy Inspector with the correct certifications. Otherwise, approval for the related work may not be approved by Building and Safety.

The following are common forms and publications associated with the Deputy Inspector Program.

Registered Deputy Inspectors (DBI) Roster
Registered Deputy Inspector Application/Examination Instructions
Trade License Application
Deputy Correction Notice
Registered Deputy Building Inspector's Certificate of Compliance
Request for Modification of Building Ordinances (Under Construction)
Resume Sheet for Registered Deputy Inspector
Deputy Inspector Self-Employment Affidavit

If you have questions or need additional information on the Deputy Inspector Program, please feel free to call our Customer Call Center for further assistance.

Building and Safety has also gone to great lengths to provide a variety of documents available online, including Deputy Inspector related documents. We have included a Deputy Inspector Program section on our Forms page that provides access to a variety of Deputy Inspector documents.
