Fire Sprinkler Plan Check
(Section 94.101.3.6)

The following information has been summarized from the Los Angeles Municipal Code to make it easier to understand the intent of the code.

Fire Sprinkler Plan Check Required
Plans shall be filed with and approved by the Department before any permit is issued for work listed below is:

1.
Class H Standpipes.
2.
Standpipes: Wet, Dry, or Combination (Class I, II, III).
3.
Fire pump systems.
4.
Fire hydrant systems.
5.
Hand hose systems connected to fire sprinkler piping.
6.
Monitor nozzle systems.
7.
Fire sprinkler systems.
Exceptions: Plan check is not required for the following:
i.
Raising or lowering of sprinklers due to change in ceiling height.
ii.
Replacing of sprinklers of the same type orifice size and temperature rating.
iii.
Relocation of sprinklers in previously occupied buildings or tenant spaces.
